I am finally writing a post

*Gasp* Here I am, writing a post. I know, it’s been a long time. I apologize. And I’m sorry, you’ll have to deal with more updates. So, here we go.

– When I last wrote I was watching Noragami. I am now waiting for the manga to update and am crossing my fingers for a second season. It was wonderful. I love how it could go from absolutely ridiculous to dead serious in a matter of seconds. I love all the characters and the art from the manga is gorgeous.

– I watched Free! Iwatobi Swim Club. Yes, I did it. I watched an anime about swimming. okay, so it was funny but what really made it funny was that it was so dramatic. And guess what? Season two is coming out in the summer, hooray (this is kind of a half sarcastic hooray)! Pretty much I only care about Rin.

– I’m watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I love it. Everyone watch it. Again, it goes from hilarious to dark and serious and violent within seconds. I still can’t decide my favorite character. It’s either Al (he’s so precious I can’t even. Who knew a suit of armor could be so cute?), Ed (I love the hot headed characters ok?), or Roy. It’s amazing and I’m not even finished with it yet.

– Kyoukai no Kanata is getting an extra episode on July second or something like that. I am fangirling because it’s going to be about Akihito (WHO IS MY BABY AND MY FAVORITE CHARACTER EVERRRR). I felt the need to share that with you. I’m not sure why.

– I am reading a manga called Hirunaka no Ryuusei (it is not finished yet and I am caught up and waiting for it to update). It is really cute and it makes me happy so you all should read it.

– I am caught up in the Shingeki no Kyojin manga. I am very confused and I am scared everyone will die in the end. I have so many questions I want to find the author of the manga and make him tell me everything (if he even knows everything). But it is exciting and now I have to wait for that to update too. But if you are a fan of SnK you should totally read the manga. If you are too lazy to read through what the anime covered I suggest you start at chapter 30. But you should still read the whole thing at some point.

– Captain America: The Winter Soldier was amazing. Marvel did not let me down. I am in love with the Cap. If you liked the first Captain America this one is easily just as good. And I totally ship Natasha and Steve. I don’t like writing reviews so all I will say is WATCH IT.

– The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did  not let me down either. It was sad because *SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT* Gwen dies, but I was hoping they would add that in (because she dies in the comics). It made the movie bettter, and more emotional (especially since your friend *coughcoughandreacoughcough* was sobbing during her death scene). I really liked the way they developed the villain too. He wasn’t just a stupid old villain and that made me happy. And Harry had some good development too. I am excited to see the next movie. Go watch this movie too.

– I just finished reading The Fault In Our Stars and ugh….I am so mad. And sad. But mostly mad. I will probably cry when I see the movie, but I will laugh at the metaphor thing (seriously. I don’t get it. It just makes me laugh. It’s ridiculous.). I am sorry friends I will probably have very mixed emotions during the movie, just as I did with the book. It was enjoyable (well the end wasn’t, but you know…), but the writing wasn’t all that spectacular to me and some parts were just…eh. I am interested to see how the movie will be though.

I probably had more stuff to tell you guys but since I can’t think of anything else to say I will end this post. No art this time. Too lazy to upload pictures hehe. I spend too much time on Tumblr…But anyway, I am not dead and hopefully I will post a bit more often. I have some story ideas so I might share a few on here but I might not. I will post (maybe…) about the new X-Men movie and The Fault In Our Stars movie and  How To Train Your Dragon 2 when it comes out. 😀

Flameo guys. I’m sorry for the horrible blog post.

Ready for an art dump?

Look everyone, I’m back!! I’m not dead, I was just wasting my time on Tumblr. Sorry… Anyway, I have a lot of art to show you guys but before I do that I’ll tell you what’s new.

1. I finished Kyokai no Kanata. It was amazing and beautiful and I want a season 2! I just loved it all. There were some things that were left unanswered, which makes me hopeful for a season 2. I loved all the characters and it made me cry. I just…ugh, the feels. It’s only twelve episodes long so I suggest you watch it. It is worth it. And Akihito is so amazing and wonderful and cute  I mean what? And the animation is wonderful.

2. I finished Red Data Girl. While I loved the characters, the plot was super confusing and the ending was…meh. But Izumiko and Miyuki are so adorable together. Definitely not as satisfied with this as I was with Kyokai no Kanata, but I would still recommend watching it, if only for the characters. Oh, and the animation. It was wonderful.

3. I watched Attack on Titan! It was wonderful. The animation was good, I love all the characters, and the soundtrack was stunning. The opening songs are the best ever. It was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat. If you don’t mind lots of violence, blood, death, giant human eating creatures or some language, I would definitely recommend this to you. Again, I hope there’s a season 2 because I need one. Pretty much all I have to say. A really interesting plot, complex characters, intense episodes, great openings and soundtrack make Attack on Titan one of my favorite shows. Watch it. Now. Unless you don’t like violence. Then don’t watch it.

4. I’m watching an anime called Noragami with my sister. There’s only five episodes out right now so I’ll tell you what I thought of it once it’s done. I like it so far. It can go from dorky one minute to mysterious the next. I like the plot too. I’ll be interested to see how it turns out.

5. Not on the subject of shows, I played flute for the musical our local high school put on. It took up a lot of time and I can tell you I wanted to blog sooner but I was super busy with that. The musical was very good in my opinion (even though I couldn’t play half of the music. It was hard). When it was actually time to put on the musical it was a fun experience, but the practices were so boring. I probably won’t be doing it again.

I think that’s all. Guess what that means? ART DUMP!

Yeah, otp from Attack on Titan. Experimenting with charcoal.

More Attack on Titan. Jean in chibi form. He's my favorite character. :)

Oh and look at this, a Pacific Rim/Attack on Titan crossover! It's Armin and Jean because hey, why not (also I kind of didn't finish the background, so just ignore that). I am never drawing Pacific Rim outfits again. It took me like four hours to do them.

Yukine from Noragami (because he's adorable). I was experimenting with charcoal and pastels. I colored his eyes with colored pencils though (side note: my tumblr url is on there because I posted it there. FYI).

I got some copic markers for Christmas (YAYAYAYAY), so I was experimenting with those (please ignore the little unfinished face on the paper. I had no idea what I was doing with that).

Okay, I think I’m done. I got a lot of art supplies for Christmas so I had to experiment with them. I’m very satisfied. So there you go. I have nothing else to talk about so I’ll end this post.

Have a nice day and flameo!

Hey there everyone (I’m so creative with my title, right?)

Hi guys! It’s looking a bit dirty around here, but don’t worry, I cleaned it (I wouldn’t want anyone getting allergic to all the dust ya know?). So, I haven’t blogged for a while and I don’t know why. I mean, it’s not like I’ve been spending all my time on Tumblr or anything. *nervous laughter* Anyway, I’ll inform you guys on what’s been going on.

I’m caught up on Kyokai no Kanata (Beyond the Boundary) and what can I say…I love it. A lot. It started off very cute, but by episode 8 it got really emotional, there was a lot of fighting (I love the fight scenes), and there were cliffhangers at the end of every single episode. The animation is beautiful, I love the characters (Akihito XD), I just love it all. I was able to understand the plot too, which was good. I know some people were confused, but I pretty much got it. Also, Mirai and Akihito are just too cute. But I’m sad because next week it’s ending. I think it might be an hour long though because everyone thought there were thirteen episodes, and if there is only one next week that would only be twelve. So I think they might be playing two episodes. I hope so…I don’t want it to end. 😦

I’m almost done with Red Data Girl. I think I have two more episodes left. Again, the animation is really beautiful and I like all the characters (Miyuki!). Izumiko and Miyuki are extremely adorable as well. The plot is really confusing though, and if I miss one sentence I feel like I don’t understand anything. Sometimes I even need to rewatch a certain scene to get it. I think I get it now though. This is the kind of show you can watch over and over again and still get something new out of it every time. Kind of like the movie Inception. I still enjoy it though. It’s cute.

I saw Frozen just the other day and I would recommend you all see it. It has great music (I’ve been singing Let it Go for the past two days now) and it’s very cute. Despite the title, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 🙂 And I don’t care what anyone says, the animation was really pretty. And if you think Olaf the snowman is going to be annoying, I can tell you that he’s not. I thought he was going to be really stupid, but it turns out he was actually really funny. Yeah, go see this movie.

Christmas is almost here, so my family has been shopping and decorating like crazy. I guess that took up some of my time from blogging. I made tons of paper snowflakes and it hurt my fingers. What can I say, I love Christmas. My whole family does. We’ve already watched the movie Elf twice, along with A Christmas Story and other random Christmas shows. While I’m at it, I’ll wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year just in case I don’t get around to blogging before Christmas again. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

And I think that’s all. Oh, you know I said I was working on some Avatar: The Last Airbender fanart? That didn’t really go anywhere. I didn’t do anything with it. I did do some Zutara art, which I may post later since I’m too lazy to post now. I posted it on Tumblr though, so if you follow me you would have seen it.

I’ll probably have some more thoughts on KnK and Red Data Girl after I finish both of them, so you know, be prepared for that.

Well, I think I’m finally going to end this random post. But first I must tell you all to stay warm (unless you live somewhere like Florida), because it is very cold. At least up here in Wisconsin. It is currently 14 degrees (Fahrenheit) here. It’s been below zero a few times. So yeah, if you have the same weather as us, stay warm.

Okay, now I’ll say FLAMEO and be done.

Vampire Knight Review

There are spoilers from the Vampire Knight anime in this post. If you don’t want spoilers, don’t read the post. You have been warned.

Okay, so maybe if I actually liked vampires I would have enjoyed this more. Or if I didn’t hate many of the characters.

To start off, I have to say, I love the opening song for the first season. The opening for the second season is good too, but the first one was awesome. I appreciate good opening songs.

I only watched Vampire Knight because my friend told me to. I really don’t like vampires, still don’t, but the concept was interesting, so I watched it. The reason I kept watching it? Zero and Aidou. 😀

The plot was interesting, the music was pretty good, but…I did not like really any of the characters. Yuuki started off okay, but she kept jumping between Kaname and Zero, which was super annoying. Pretty much, by the beginning of season two, everything she did was annoying. But she was helping Zero, so that was nice. Then again, she was hurting him because she loved Kaname and would forget about Zero. Her thoughts would be on Kaname and then suddenly she would freak out and be like, ‘oh my gosh! Zero! I totally forgot about you and now you’re probably in trouble. I’m so stupid.’ then run to help him, and then go back to thinking about Kaname and forgetting about Zero. Seriously Yuuki? And then you find out she is a vampire and she becomes all weird around Zero. Yeah Yuuki, you are pretty stupid.

Kaname…um…I hate you. Sorry. Not sorry. Okay, so he’s the mysterious vampire that everyone respects and Yuuki “loves” because he saved her and that was her first memory. All he wanted was to protect Yuuki so he set up this super elaborate plan that somehow worked out, all to protect her. What? Everyone was his pawn. How did he know that Ichiru would let Zero drink his blood? How did he know everything would work out? What if someone betrayed him? Can he see into the future or something? And he treated Zero horribly. Gosh that was annoying. And even though he wanted to protect Yuuki, I felt like he was being really mean towards her too. Everyone follows him, but I don’t know why. Maybe they have to because he’s a pure blood, I don’t know. I would leave him right away because he gets on my nerves. Every word that comes out of his mouth makes me cringe.

There’s nothing much to say about Zero other than he’s awesome and the worst treated character on the show. Kaname hates him and only lets him live because he’ll protect Yuuki, Yuuki says she protects Zero, but goes off and forgets about him (not to mention everything he does for her she thinks it’s Kaname and gives him the credit). And Zero has to live with being a vampire, the creatures he hates most, and he suffers a lot. He has a horrible past too. Poor Zero. You’re the best. I love you.

The other vampires aren’t too bad either I guess, but some of them will get on my nerves once and a while. I love Aidou though. He’s funny but clever. Yes, I love him too.

So take out all the characters I hate and I’d like the show. As I said, the plot is good, I just wish the characters were more likable. The people I didn’t like grew worse in season two, but the characters I liked got better. Kaien Cross was really cool in season two.

So I talked about Kaname’s stupidly elaborate plan and how it amazingly worked out, but I absolutely hated the end. I know the manga ends differently, and I would like to read it to see, but in the anime, all the vampires go off into the sunset, leaving Zero alone obviously hurt that Yuuki turned out to be a vampire. I hated that Yuuki turned into a vampire and I am confused to who Kaname really is. I thought he was Yuuki’s brother, but apparently he’s the ancestor of the vampires or something? Um, does anyone know how to explain this? Also, it seemed way too easy for Zero to defeat the evil pure blood vampire, whatever his name was. It seriously took him like five minutes. I know you’re awesome and all Zero, but I think a powerful pure blood would be harder to defeat. Maybe he wasn’t too his full strength yet or something?

I don’t even know what to say about this show anymore. This is more like a rant than a review. Oh well. All in all, if you like vampires and can handle a horrible love triangle, watch Vampire Knight. If someone asked me for a show to watch though, I would recommend something else. But I guess we all have our opinions, so maybe you’ll love Vampire Knight.

Will I be watching another vampire show? Probably not. This certainly made vampire more interesting, but it didn’t make me like them (except for Zero and Aidou).

Side note. I failed Nano. 😦 Failed. I feel horrible. I just did not feel my story. Maybe because it was my first time writing science fiction. I came close. I need five thousand more words, and I’m not writing that all tonight. But at this point, I don’t care. At least I wrote something (I wrote my reviews. Aren’t you glad I wrote the Vampire Knight review in November?).

Also, tomorrow is December 1st. Do you know what that means? I get to watch new shows!!! Yay. I’ll be starting Red Data Girl and Kyokai no Kanata. More anime reviews? Don’t be surprised if I have some upcoming posts talking about the shows. 😉

Anyway…I’ll end this post now. Thanks for dealing with my ranting. 🙂

Flameo!

Book 2 of Legend of Korra is done!

This post contains spoilers. If you have not seen Legend of Korra I suggest you do not read this. You have been warned.

Okay, so I’ll get straight to the review. No rambling about anything else (except maybe at the end of the post…).

Here we go.

I have to admit, Spirits (Book 2 of Legend of Korra) started off pretty rocky. I would love it, and then get frustrated. There was a lot of drama going on between the characters, Mako and Korra especially. It didn’t help that the fandom was making a big deal out of studio Pierrot’s animation.

So it wasn’t as good as studio Mir’s animation. I was just as happy as everyone else when  Mir came back. But seriously, the animation was not that bad. People made it seem like the worst animation on the face of the Earth. The scenery was just gorgeous. I’m sure they tried their best, and Mir is pretty hard to beat when it comes to animation. So thank you Pierrot for your contribution. You really weren’t as bad as everyone made you sound.

Back to Korra. So drama…yes, there was a lot of it in the beginning, and it did get a little annoying. Everyone was bashing Korra for acting like a jerk, and even though she was acting like one, I knew where she was coming from. She’s the avatar. She’s been locked up and probably didn’t have very many friends in her life. She was angry for everyone running her life for her, but she got through it and fixed it. Character development guys.

And I think everyone agrees that bringing back the love triangle was unnecessary, and the Republic City plot was…eh. Bolin’s character was going downhill, but he did get a little better later on. It will be interesting to see what happens in Book 3 (titled Change). Also I hope Asami gets a little more character development, because she felt kind of useless this whole book. All she did was bring back the love triangle, and that wasn’t good.

I did like that they made Varrick evil. Everyone hates Unalaq and he’s evil, but even though Varrick is evil, we still love him. He’s just…Varrick. You can’t help but love him even if he is evil. I thought it was a nice twist. I wonder if we’ll be seeing more of him in Book 3?

The twins are another matter. They were interesting…the whole thing with Bolin and Eska was strange yet amusing, but I was glad when they got some character development. At first I thought they weren’t going to be used for anything other than a romance with Bolin played for laughs. I didn’t want that to happen, so I was happy when we got to see more of their character. Again, I wonder if they’ll be in Book 3?

I really did like the plot of Book 2. The pacing was not as good as it could have been, but I loved the whole spiritual aspect of it. It was cool. So even though the beginning was kind of rough, the plot was good.

Then came Beginnings part 1 and 2.

I had hope again. I loved them. Learning about the world and how Wan became the Avatar was awesome, the story between Vaatu and Raava was great. I nearly cried at the end of those episodes because it was so amazing (Waava!). The animation was beautiful. It was just…ugh, perfect.

After that, I was pretty satisfied with all the episodes. A New Spiritual Age was a really good episode. We got to see more of Jinora, Korra got some awesome character development and we got to see the Spirit World and Uncle Iroh (I pretty much died when I saw him. I freaked out. My sister can confirm this). He gave some very good words of wisdom. Of course.

And the finale.

It was better than the finale of Book 1. It was really good. Beautifully animated, and very twisty. The fandom called Unalaq fusing with Vaatu, but man we did not prepare for the past avatars to be destroyed forever, nor did we prepare for Korra turning giant and fighting giant Unavaatu, or Jinora bringing light back. I just loved it. The only thing I wanted was for Asami to play a bigger part. Other than that I loved it.

I know a lot of people hated the Avatars disappearing, and I will admit, it was rough (seriously, you guys just are sad Aang is gone. Really, you don’t think he’ll come back?). I was sure Korra was going to save Raava before Wan disappeared, so when he did I teared up and almost threw something. But I thought it was a good twist to the plot and I know that it will play a part in Book 3. It was sad, but it was a good twist and you know it.

I really liked how Korra became all spiritual at the end and was able to turn giant and defeat Vaatu. Can we talk about how she defeated him? I mean, she basically calmed him. And no, he is not destroyed. But Unalaq is. I don’t think anyone will miss him. I liked how Korra defeated Vaatu not by using force, but by being spiritual. Calming him. It was perfect for a book called Spirits.

I was happy Jinora played a larger part in this book. I thought it was interesting how she was able to get into the spirit world but Tenzin wasn’t. And how she could sense that dark and light were off balance, so she went to go find Raava. It was really neat.

So, all in all, the beginning of Spirits was rocky, Beginnings part 1 and 2 and everything after that are good episodes, and the finale was amazing. Overall I really liked it. By the end I was wishing for more Korra already. There are still some problems, but maybe that will be tied up in Book 3. So, if you watched Book 1 of Legend of Korra, definitely watch Book 2, and don’t get discouraged by the first half of it. And even if you can’t ship anyone anymore, you will probably ship Waava. It’s just WAN great ship. 🙂

Okay, I’m done now. This is probably a horrible review but I have a lot of writing to do (I am so behind on NaNo…gah…) so I’m sorry. If you guys have any opinions on Book 2 feel free to comment. I love comments. 🙂 Also, if I missed anything super important in the review tell me, because I only watched the series once (will rewatch it sometime), so I can’t remember everything.

Next up is a review on Vampire Knight! Hooray I finished it. No more Kaname. Oops wait, I’m reading the manga now so I’ll have to deal with him. 😛 Anyway, stick around for that. I will try to get it up before the end of November, but since I am very behind in my word count for NaNoWriMo, you may have to wait until the beginning of December. I promise it will be the beginning of December. And then I’ll have other shows to review. 🙂

Flameo everyone. I’m off to write some words.

NaNoWriMo and other random updates

Hey guys! Time for some NaNo updates. Yippey.

So, I just reached 30,000 words. I am going a lot slower than I did last year, but I think I had more time to write last year. I did manage to write 4,000 words today, which helped. My story is going in a different direction than I had planned, and it may turn out longer than I expected, but it’s going okay. I’m getting a little bored, but I think that happens to everyone. I will prevail! Do not fear! Yeah, I think that’s all I had to say.

Other updates. There are only two weeks left in book 2 of the Legend of Korra guys.

This is a big deal. I am very sad that it is going to be done. It seemed like it just started a week ago (okay, maybe not, but it seemed to go by very fast). Expect a post of me rambling once it is over. Hopefully good rambling. We shall see.

Also, I have about nine episodes in Vampire Knight left. I just watched an episode last night and I wanted so bad to punch Kaname (actually I always want to punch him). Zero my poor bby. ❤ Seriously though, Zero is the best and the worst things happen to him. I should be finished soon. I’ll have time to watch a couple episodes tonight, since I wrote a lot today and won’t be trying to get words out at midnight. Depending on when I finish it, I might combine it with the Korra post I am planning on doing. Or I could write two separate posts in the same day.  😀

December is dubbed my movie and tv show month, where I will watch a bunch of shows and movies that I want to watch (I really can’t wait until December. Forget writing, I want to watch some tv). I might have some mini reviews on some shows. I’m planning on watching Red Data Girl and Kyokai no Kanata, both which are relatively short shows (I know KnK is still airing, but I believe there are only supposed to be thirteen episodes. I could be completely wrong), so I might do mini reviews on them. The characters in both shows look adorable so I’m excited. I’ll see how I like them. And if I have time I might watch Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan).

Yeah, this was a boring post. Just a bunch of updates. I am starting a watercolor painting of Zuko and Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender, so whenever (or if) I finish it, I will probably post that. I really don’t have any other good art right now. Been too caught up in writing. So sorry to those who want to see my art (I love you guys, even if you don’t really like my drawings. I love that you put up with them). I’ll try to have some up soon!

Okay I will end now. Flameo, wish me luck on finishing NaNo (and finishing Vampire Knight. Kaname makes me want to…oh never mind you guys hear me rant about him all the time)!

😀

Nanowrimo 2013

Guys, guys, guys. Help. I am so unprepared for NaNo, and it starts tomorrow!! *runs around frantically* But, even though I am not ready, I’m still doing it, and my goal is 50,000 words. I will wing it and try to make it (No. I will make it!). Wish me luck!

I believe a talked about NaNo in the last post, so if you have no idea what I’m talking about, look there. I just wanted to let you guys know that since NaNo is starting, I will be focusing a lot on my novel, so I don’t know how much I’ll post. I am going to try to give updates on how I’m doing and maybe post an excerpt, but it all depends on how I’m doing on my novel.

Sorry to all those who are waiting for a Vampire Knight or Legend of Korra review. Legend of Korra isn’t over yet and won’t be over until November 22. I am keeping up with it though, so don’t worry. I’ll probably have a post up about it either the night it ends, or the next morning because I will need to tell you all about my feels. I can tell you this though, the episodes titled Beginnings Part 1 and 2 were amazing. Wonderful. If you don’t like the start of Legend of Korra book 2 just keep at it until you get to Beginnings.

All those waiting for a Vampire Knight review. I am so behind!!!! I’m sorry! I thought I was going to get through it quick but Tumblr and other stuff got in the way. I will still plan on watching it during Nano. If I reach my daily word goal (or am way ahead of everyone else) I will watch an episode. You can expect a review either late November or early December (or hey, maybe I will surprise myself and get it done sooner). Just hang on for a little bit. Again I am so sorry! If I don’t get a review up by late December, feel free to scold me in the comments.

So…yeah! Wish me luck on NaNo (and finishing my shows).

Flameo!

I can’t think of a good name for this random post

Hello all. I have been gone for a while, and if you were expecting a wonderful post, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait. This is not a wonderful blog post. I’m just posting to tell you that I am alive and that I’ve been doing other things. What other things you say? Well, here’s some stuff.

1. Tumblr. I got a Tumblr, and it’s taking over my life. Okay, I’m not that obsessed with it, but yes, I do check it quite often. If you want a bunch of Avatar: the Last Airbender, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, or Once Upon a Time stuff, you can follow me. This here is my blog. There are some other random things there. But it mostly contains the stuff from the fandoms listed above. I am planning on posting some of my artwork on my Tumblr blog as well, so if you really love my artwork you can see more there. Maybe.

2. I’ve been drawing, but I don’t know how much of it is worthy of being posted on this blog. We’ll see…

3. I’ve been watching shows. Book 2 of Korra is airing right now, and so is season 3 of Once Upon a Time. I am also trying to watch Vampire Knight so I can do a review on it, but I’ve only watched one episode of season 2 so far. But yes, lots of shows, which isn’t good.

4. Nano planning! Yay, Nano is coming up soon. If you are a writer and you don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, check out their site here. All you do is try to write a novel (or 50,000 words) during November. Unfortunately I am not very far in my planning of my novel. I don’t even have all of my characters named yet. I must get to work on that since it starts in November. Gah! So little time. I will (hopefully) keep you updated on my progress during Nano.

There, I think I got everything. Also, I have been sick for the past week (bleh…fever), so I really didn’t want to blog. I only wanted to sleep. I am feeling better though. Still a little sick, but better.

So yeah. There was a great post for you all. Now I’m off to Tumblr…oh gosh, maybe I am obsessed with it.

Flameo!

Zero!

I just finished Vampire Knight season 1. I needed a break from Kaname ( 😛 ), so I decided to draw my favorite character from the show. And as you can probably guess, it’s Zero.

So…here guys.

<3 <3

It took a long time to draw him. I’m pretty happy with it. I had no colors for his hair so instead of colored pencils I had to use just a regular drawing pencil. He was really hard to draw.

Oh Zero, if it wasn’t for you I’d probably stop watching this show. Kaname can go die in a hole.

Well, that’s all for today. I have nothing else to blog about. I could write a review for season 1 of Vampire Knight but I’m too lazy right now. Yep. I’ll probably just wait until the end of the show. Oh gosh, I need to put up with Kaname for about 13 more episodes. *dies*

A Review of Fruits Basket

This post contains spoilers from both the anime and the manga, so you know…read at your own risk.

Yesterday I finished watching Fruits Basket. Overall, it was okay. I think that I would have liked it better if I would have watched it before I read the manga, but since I read the manga first, it was just so so for me. I guess I’ll start with the good points of the anime and then go into what dragged the anime down.

I did appreciate the fact that all the characters looked the same, and had the same personalities. Kyo is awesome (but not as awesome as he is in the manga) <3, Momiji is just as adorable, Tohru is her loving and kind self, Shigure is um…you know, and Ayame is just…Ayame. Yuki does look a little different, with his purple eyes (why did they do that? I have no idea). In the manga he has more silvery hair and gray eyes. But other than that he’s the same. Also, I liked that the characters made a lot of the same faces as they did in the manga. I still laugh when Tohru makes her faces (she makes the best faces). I was glad that they still gave Kyo ears when he got annoyed or angry.

The anime pretty much follows the manga from what I can remember. There are some little things that are different, like having people transform more often than they do in the manga, and introducing Ritsu before you find out about Kyo’s other form. Ritsu comes into the manga two volumes after you see Kyo’s other form. Not that it really matters, I just thought I’d point it out. The only big difference between the anime and the manga is the ending. The entire last episode is different from the manga, and it really ruined the anime for me. But, I’ll talk about that in a while.

The voice acting was another huge problem for me. I watched it in Japanese with subtitles (sorry all you dub lovers but the dub is just awful. Awful. Everyone sounds so bored and Kyo sounds like a freakin’ cowboy.), and all the voice actors were okay. Not spectacular. Tohru’s and Momiji’s voices were fine, just to name a few. Kyo’s voice was too deep, Yuki was voiced by a girl (seriously, no one said he sounded like a girl. Only that he looked like a girl), Ritsu was voiced by a girl (even worse than Yuki’s), and Kisa was really quiet all the time and she sounded like she was going to cry. Also, Akito was voiced by a guy, but I guess that wasn’t their fault because you found out that Akito was a girl in a one of the later volumes of the manga.

The alternate ending. I could live with the voice acting, but what I did not get was why they changed the ending. In the manga, when Kyo transforms into his other form, it’s really just between him and Tohru. In the anime, everyone gets involved, which I guess they thought that since it was the finale, they should make all the characters play a part, but it really ruined it for me. And probably for everyone who read the manga and then watched the anime. It starts off the same, but when Tohru runs off after Kyo, Akito comes and talks to her and basically tells her to stop being involved with the Sohmas. I thought it was kind of pointless to put that in there. Then Shigure pops up and makes Akito leave, and then starts breaking down and telling Tohru that he’s sorry. Another pointless thing they added in. Then, instead of going straight to Kyo like in the manga, Tohru goes to her mother’s grave where she meets Uotani and Hanajima. Hanajima just felt something was wrong and told Tohru to get up and go back, even though she has no idea what is going on. Tohru says she can’t, which isn’t at all like the manga. Tohru never says she can’t go on. She goes straight to Kyo, even though she’s scared, but never did she think of running away and saying that she couldn’t go back to him. Finally Tohru gets back up, after Hanajima urged her on, and that’s when she goes to Kyo. But…Yuki is with Kyo too. Yuki was not there in the manga. Everyone stayed away and Tohru was the only one who was brave enough to face Kyo in that form, but suddenly Tohru’s not the only person there, Yuki is! Surprise. Yuki seems very useless also. All he does is urge Tohru to tell Kyo how she feels, and when Kyo turns back and he talks to Tohru and hugs her, Yuki is there, doing nothing. In the manga, I felt it was a special moment between Kyo and Tohru, even if the two didn’t end up together (which they did, and I ship them), but with Yuki there, it just felt…I don’t know, not very special? Hey, I like Yuki, don’t get me wrong, I just wish they stuck with the manga and made it just Kyo and Tohru.

After that whole thing, there was a scene where Tohru goes and sees Akito, and that never happens in the manga. She even kind of changes Akito’s heart in that scene. It felt really pointless to add in. I know that at the end of the manga she talks to Akito and Akito changes but at the end of the anime, it felt l rushed and sudden. Plus it never happened in the manga. I guess maybe since they introduced Akito they felt that they should add something with her (or him, I guess in the anime), but I wish they didn’t do it like that.

So, overall, it was okay, but I would recommend you read the manga. It is so much better, and if you love Yuki or you love Kyo, you’ll love them even more in the manga. I wish they did make a better anime of Fruits Basket, because it is a really good manga and deserves a good anime. I really wish they did the entire manga too. I would have loved to see Tohru’s and Kyo’s relationship and also Yuki’s and Machi’s relationship. I would have loved to meet the student council too. Also, if they did redo the entire anime, I want them to pick better voice actors.

Before I end this post, I just have to say, as a side note, that a season 2 of Fruits Basket would never work. First of all, there would be the problem with Akito being a girl but having the voice of a guy, and then the whole thing with Tohru’s baseball cap. That was never talked about in the anime so they would not be able to mention it in later, which would be bad since it is actually kind of important, or they would just have to be like, oh yeah, Tohru has this baseball cap with a story behind it! Also, the whole scene with Akito at the end of the anime would mess the second season up too.

So yeah, everyone, I would suggest you read the manga. It is so much better than the anime. It’s just amazing.
